Purling-brook Falls Springbrook
All through the week you say to yourself you’ll head out to the hinterland and experience nature this weekend. But like it does to us all, time gets away from you, and Sunday rolls around and suddenly you’ve still not ventured out!
You were supposed to wake up early, get active and explore the wilderness! Now its 10.30am on Sunday and you’ve left it too late!
Or have you?
We can suggest a super easy walk that only requires a few hours to get there, see it, snap it and get home. And don’t worry you don’t have to sacrifice the rewards of doing a big hike cause its still accessible from a lookout point (picture epic views and insta-worthy pictures).
Purling Brook Falls is calling your name. It is situated among the ancient Gondwana Rainforest in Springbrook and a well-loved spot for locals. The waterfall boasts an impressive height of 348 feet (106metres) and the views are just as impressive. A short 45-minute drive south-west from central Gold Coast will have you situated in the central hub of Springbrook National Park.
You don’t need to be a pro hiker to come here and enjoy it nor do you need a lot of time up your sleeve. The distance is 500 metres to the lookout which looks out onto the giant falls surrounded by ancient trees. Keep your eyes peeled for native birds and other wildlife. There is a unique flora and fauna ecosystem out here worth looking into. One thing that makes Purling Brook a favourite for us is that rain, hail or shine you will get great views.
When others would be running inside during the rain we know that Purling Brook will put on its best show for us. Unsurprisingly this attracts many tourists and locals alike. We can vouch and say it’s worth getting out in the rain for!
If you’re keen to get out and don’t have a way there, we got you! We run half day tours that can get you up here to experience the best parts of Springbrook and trust us when we say you don’t want to miss out.
